Short version: Corgi Guard does not collect, sell, or share personal data. The extension stores settings locally in your browser. The only thing ever sent to our server is your license key and a random device ID, and only if you activate Pro.
Corgi Guard ("we", "us", "our") is an independent Chrome extension project. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at [email protected].
We do not collect personal data through the extension.
Corgi Guard operates locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. The extension stores the following data on your device:
This data is not sent to us, associated with your identity, or linked to your Google account by Corgi Guard.
The one exception — Pro license activation. If you purchase Pro and activate a license key, the extension sends that license key together with a randomly generated device ID to our API at corgiguard.app, which forwards them to Creem to verify the key and enforce the device activation limit. The device ID is a random identifier created by the extension; it is not derived from your hardware, Google account, or browsing activity. No browsing history, page content, or other extension data is ever included in these requests. The extension periodically repeats this check to confirm the license is still active.
Corgi Guard requests browser permissions so it can count time on selected sites and show the break overlay.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share extension data with third parties. Corgi Guard does not include analytics libraries, advertising networks, or tracking SDKs. The only third party that receives any data is Creem, our payment provider, which receives your license key and device ID solely to validate Pro purchases (see Sections 2 and 5).
Corgi Guard's core features are free. An optional Pro upgrade costs US$5.99 as a one-time purchase and is processed by Creem (creem.io), which acts as our merchant of record and handles checkout, billing, and tax. We do not receive or store your card details. Creem may collect payment and contact information under its own privacy policy in order to process your purchase. After payment, a license key is emailed to you; the extension stores that key locally and validates it through our API as described in Section 2. See our Terms of Service for purchase and refund details.
Corgi Guard is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
Because extension settings are stored locally, you can clear them by removing the extension from Chrome, using the extension's reset controls, or clearing Chrome extension storage.
